An investigation has revealed that Confidant Health, a US-based virtual healthcare company, inadvertently exposed over 120,000 confidential files, including videos and audios of therapy sessions.

The exposed data included personal patient records, psychiatric notes, and administrative documents such as driving licences and insurance information.

The company has stated that the vulnerability was rectified within an hour and that no malicious actors accessed the records. Nonetheless, the incident underscores the escalating risks to data security in the healthcare sector.
